I’m known to many as the woman in black, why? the answer is obvious I’m always in black, this has been my trend since I was about 20 and wanting to look older to gain entry into clubs, then I got stuck with it and at work unless you have to wear a horrible uniform it never fails to look smart.
Funny thing is I like colour, though rarely applied it to my life, even at home everything was magnolia, because it was easy, and with splashes of colour it was still pretty bland, in some ways I began to think of this a reflection of who I was.
I have found but didn’t make the connection I seemed to perk up when I wore something more vibrant, I love passionate red, vibrant oranges, but love the calmness of blues and green, sunny yellows, hot pinks cool lilacs, rich purples, coppery browns, silvery greys and of course black for all seasons.
In ancient Egypt they created solariums to which they added coloured glass when the sun shone on them the different colours acted as mood enhancers, which of course can be beneficial today in helping to treat depression and anxiety.
Lately I’ve been wearing more colour, subtle at first, also becoming more bold with patterns, makes a difference in how I feel and how others respond to you.
I’m a bit late to the party of Mindfulness Colouring, having read about it on blogs, though I did try a while back, and wasn’t that receptive to it, wondering through a bookshop one day feeling restless, saw a few books on sale and thought why not?.
apparently were way behind the French when it comes to adult colouring , though it’s now all the rage here(UK) and there are a myriad of designs to colour or create if your talented in sketching.
The benefits for me were immediate within minutes I felt calmer as I concentrated on the colours and what could be created and my stress and anxiety just melted away, so happy that mind my can be brought into focus on the “now” as opposed to the whirling kaleidoscope without colour, that has me flitting from one incoherent thought to the next.
The books can be pricey so go to a discount books shop I got my book for £3.00 and the pencils for £1.50 and with over 150 designs it should keep me busy for a long while.
The first coloring design is not mine, the ones below are, hope you enjoy.
I guess it just shows how serious and thorough my anxiety is–I have several coloring books but they don’t relax me a bit! Instead, I worry about whether it will look good when I get done, it’s taking too long, my pencils are getting dull, and on and on. Sometimes I just want to smack myself!!!

oh, what a shame, I did worry at first, but it seems to have done the trick, try again and go with the flow, it can only improve:)

I think you’re right. It might feel like exercise for awhile but if I can relax doing other things, I ought to be able to figure it out with this thing that is artistic. Anything artsy usually reaches me. It is worth a try.

Friends in Scotland used to call me blue because it was all I wore and everywhere is painted magnoloia, but I like to add colour with nick nacks and stuff and in the summer I am usually adventurous with colourful shorts and light coloured trousers. Your patterns are really good. I’ve heard about the adult colouring books, sound good

I’m trying new things or approaches despite my problems i feel that if I can to move forwards in other ways, these are things that I am in control of.
I spent about 3 hrs doing the for patterns today, and have to say I felt/feel pretty good.
There is quite a lot of information on mindfulness colouring on the web, I just found that I can completely relax and focus, and of course hopefully produce something creative, which is a boost.
Have a go!
