I loathe exercise but realise it’s a necessary evil, so I do it as little as possible, in fact the only regular workout I get is that I walk everywhere or reaching for another chocolate.
I used to shell out money to go to the gym, but could not stand the religious fervor of those that exercise, I don’t want bulging muscles or bulging anything actually, and a spinning class is the instrument of the devil, never ever again.
I’ve spent years cultivating my body and am quite proud of the results, and I realised that my body loves food, really loves it, but I have portion control under control, and do eat the required five servings of fruit and vegetables per day and with the walking I keep my weight under control.
So today in the free paper there was an advert for Burlesque Lessons starting soon.
Now I like dance but Burlesque I don’t know especially as it said I’d have to wear a corset high heels and feather etc, so not only would it be great exercise they’re looking to start a burlesque troop to perform at local venue’s.
I did call and ask if we were expected to strip, the answer was no, and I breathed a huge sigh of relief, but the ethos behind it was to celebrate a postive body image for women, but with added costume and music, so I’m musing on it, I need to do something different and it sounds like it could be fun.
Seems we have come full circle from Jane Fonda to Zumba fitness to Burlesque, hopefully there’ll be enough brave ladies to join up.
Now where are those chocolates!!!!
